History of Moradabad

Moradabad has been a part of several dynasties like Nanda, Panchala, Maurya, Mughal, Gupta and Maukhari. Speaking of 1624, Rustam Khan, the governor of Sambhal, conquered the region and named it 'Rustam Nagar'. It used to be a province of Rohilkhand state in the 1700s. Rohilkhand was taken captive by the British after which it was divided into two districts: Bareilly and Moradabad.

There is a lot to see in this city for tourists. It is said to have been a part of the First War of Independence in 1857. But one part of remembering and storing in our memories is that soon after India became independent in 1947, Moradabad became a part of Uttar Pradesh. Best time to visit Moradabad

Several historical manuscripts and miniature specimens of Islamic calligraphy are preserved here. Nawab Yusuf Ali Khan Nazim, an Urdu poet of the year 1855, decided to take over the library with the help of poet Mirza Ghalib. A unique collection of manuscripts was also added to the library by Nawab Kalbe Ali Khan. You will be surprised to know that it is related to the holy book of Quran which he kept with him during his Hajj journey.
